Since the 1970's, sexually transmitted diseases(STDs),
unintended pregnancies, and other problems from sexual activity have
increased among adolescents in the United States. Approximately 1
million adolescent girls become pregnant each year and 86% of all STDs
occur among persons aged 15-29 years.1 Premarital and teenage sex are
far from being a new idea. What is new is the way we deal with it.
One of the most common solutions is to distribute mass quantities
of condoms and hope for the best. Another popular technique is to tell
our kids to just say no. Abstinence is the ideal cure for this problem,
but, unfortunately, it isn't very realistic. Our society has propagated an
environment in which promiscuity is more than acceptable, it's
encouraged. Teaching our kids to cover themselves in latex is not the
answer. Neither is closing our eyes and expecting them to preserve their
virginity. Both techniques have been ineffective.

What we need is to teach our children how to say no. The
education system has taught us where everything is and how to use it.
Now we need to teach them how not to use it. Only 17 percent of girls
say that they planned their first sexual intercourse.2 This suggests that
most have sex because they don't know how to thwart sexual advances.
The first thing we need to do is teach our children to respect their bodies
at a young age. Next we need to return morality and responsibility to
the home and the classroom. One of the ways we can do this is to stress
traditional family values, promote monogamy, and return some shame to
adultery. After we have accomplished this, we need to expand or sex
education to include how not to have sex. This can be accomplished
through the use of role plays. Have students act-out a date and practice
ways to say no. The use of older student speakers would also be a very
effective tool. Lastly we need to instruct our older children in the proper
use of birth control, and insure they understand the moral and social
implications of their actions.

This problem didn't develop over night and there are no easy
answers or quick fixes. Effective policies take time to develop and
implement, but the sooner we start, the sooner we'll succeed. We need
to teach our youth that promisquity is morally wrong, socially destructive
and poses a public health hazard and that it is immoral to exploit a
partner for sexual gratification or to launch an unwanted pregnancy and
not take responsibility for it.

"Judgment Day"

The sun sat slowly behind the darkened hills, as the amber moon
rose quietly in the northern sky. It was a night not like-like any other
Autumn night, or was it.

In a far away court room sits three men, one very old and wise.
The second kindly and gentle with eyes as blue as a Crystal pool and a
heart as pure as driven snow sits Solemn and quite as a tear runs slowly
down his cheek. The third paces impatiently, a malevolent grin on his
devilishly handsome face, as he waits for the last drop of blood to fall
into goblet. The drop will fill it to overflowing. The prosecution has
waited nearly two thousand years for this moment and tonight the
prophecy will be fulfilled.

Meanwhile, in a park somewhere in America, a young girl is on her
way home from work. She had had to work late and decided to walk
home being that it was such a beautiful evening. Little did she know that
she wasn't the only one who decided to take a walk in the park that
night. Behind her she could hear the sound of a quickening footfall. As
the sound grew closer her heart began to race and her pace to quicken.
The footsteps behind her became closer and louder, her fear was fast
becoming panic, she could taste the steely bile as she began to run. Too
late, the unseen predator had found its prey. He grabbed her from
behind, covering her mouth and thrusting her to the ground. From the
back strap of his pants came the glint of blade steel then the sudden gush
of crimson flowing from her severed throat as he ripped her panties from
her already twitching loins. He listened to her last choking breath as he
thrust himself into her dieing body.

Smiling with satisfaction, the prosecution rested its case as the last
drop of blood broke the meniscus and flowed over the side of the cup.
The evidence was clear, there could be no denying the blood which
trailed over brim and onto the table. Christ wept openly as the gavel fell
and God pronounced judgment.

"Having heard the evidence presented before on this day. I have
no choice but to find the defendant guilty as charged. For the sins which
have been committed against me and his fellow man, I do hereby
sentence the Earth and all its inhabitants to ten thousand years of
damnation. As of midnight tonight, the Earth is to be returned to my
first born son Lucifer to be ruled and punished by his merciless,
unyielding hand. So let it be written, so let it be done."

Outline

Thesis: We once believed that Earth is the only planet in the Universe

that supports life. Today there is overwhelming evidence that

not only suggests, but supports the very real possibility that we

may share the Universe with other intelligent beings.

We are not Alone.

On June 24th, 1947 while searching for the remains of a downed

Marine C-46 transport, lost somewhere in the Mount Ranier area, a young

Idahoan businessman named Kenneth Arnold spotted something that would

change his life forever. Just north of his position flying at an altitude of

9,500 feet and an unprecedented airspeed of 1,700 mph he spotted nine

circular aircraft flying in formation. According to his estimate the aircraft

were approximately the size of a DC-4 airliner ( Jackson 4).

This account was the first sighting to ever receive a great deal of media

attention. This sighting gave birth to the phrase "flying Saucer" coined by a

reporter named Bill Begrette. Although not the first UFO sighting in history,

Kenneth Arnolds account is considered to be the first documented UFO

sighting.

The following day Mr. Arnold discovered that in addition to his

sighting there were several others in the Mount Ranier area that same day

(Jackson 6).

When most of think of UFO sightings we picture an unemployed, half-

crazed, alcoholic hick living in a trailer park in the middle small town USA.

Often times this description, although a little exaggerated, seems to fit
fairly

well. In the past when the average person spotted a UFO they were quickly

discounted as a kook or con-artist in search of either attention or monetary

reward. It wasn't until more reputable figures in our society began to come

forward that we that we started looking at this issue a little more seriously.

An article written 1957, entitled " Strange lights over Grenada" written by

Aime' Michel describes just such an account:

At 10:35 p.m. on September the 4th, 1957 Cpt Ferreira ordered his

wing to abandon a planned exercise and execute a 50 degree turn to

port. Ferreira was attempting to get a closer look at what he

described as brilliant, pulsating light hanging low over the horizon.

When the turn was completed he noticed that the object had turned

too. It was still directly over his left. There was absolutely no doubt

that the orange light was shadowing the F-84s. For another 10

minutes, it followed the jets without changing direction or

appearance. The pilots watched as four small yellow discs broke away

from the large red object and took up a formation on either side of it.

All at once the large luminous disc shot vertically upward while the

smaller discs shot straight towards the F-84s. In an instant the flat

disc sped overhead in a hazy blur and vanished. When Cpt Ferriera

was questioned by Portuguese Air Force Investigators he was quoted

as saying: "Please don't come out with the old explanation that we

were being chased by the planet Venus, weather balloons, or freak

atmospheric conditions. What we saw up there was real and

intelligently controlled. And it scared the hell out of us. (32)

This is only one of literally hundreds of pilot accounts that have been

documented and cross verified by other sources. To date the Portuguese

Government has taken no official position as to what the luminous discs

were.

The United States has had more than it's fair share of unexplained aerial

objects. In February of 1960 the N.A.A.D.S. (North American Air Defense

System) spotted a satellite of unknown origin orbiting the Earth. They knew

that it wasn't a Soviet satellite because it was orbiting perpendicular to

trajectory produced by a Soviet launch. It also had a mass estimated at 15

metric tons, no evidence of booster rockets and traveled at speed three times

faster than any known satellite. The satellite orbited for two weeks and

disappeared without a trace. Before its disappearance, the object which

appeared to give off a red glow, was photographed over New York several

times (Jackson 19).

Lights in the sky aren't the only evidence that suggests we may have

cosmic company. In the book "A History of UFO Crashes", the author Kevin

D. Randal gives detailed accounts of numerous UFO crashes in history.

Perhaps the most famous of these crashes occurred on July 4th, 1947 in

Roswell New Mexico. The crash at Roswell was witnessed from

afar by over a hundred people. Until just recently, no one who was involved

in the recovery operation was talking, but thanks to continued pressure from

UFO enthusiast our government has begun to declassify much of its UFO

related material. Perhaps more startling are than the government documents

are the accounts given by local police and members of the recovery team.

According to one unnamed witness, a member of the Roswell recovery team:

The crash site was littered with pieces of aircraft. Something about the

size of a fighter plane had crashed, the metal was unlike anything I'd

ever seen before. I picked up a piece the size of a car fender with one

hand, it couldn't have more than a quarter of a pound and no matter

how hard I tried I couldn't even get it to bend. (10)

In my opinion the most fascinating piece of evidence to come out of

the Roswell crash is the alien autopsy film. Apparently there was more than

bits and pieces of spaceship recovered at Roswell. There is an Air Force video

account of an autopsy being performed on a life form that doesn't share the

common characteristics of organ development found in life forms on this

planet. The film is silent and labeled "Autopsy, Roswell, July 1947" (Randal

17).

As difficult as the Roswell evidence is to explain or discount it pales in

comparison to the physical evidence left by our ancestors. An Illustration

taken from a Nuremburg Broadsheet Tells how men and women "saw a very

frightful spectacle". At sunrise April 14th, 1561 "globes, crosses and tubes

began to fight one another", the event continued for about an hour.

Afterward they fell to ground in flames, minutes later a "black, spear like

object appeared". In a Basal Broadsheet dated August 7th, 1566 large black

and white globes are seen over Dasel, Switzerland. Both events occurred in a

time period when there should have nothing more than birds and bees filling

our skies. They each considered to be Divine warnings at the time (Gould

95-96).

Ancient physical evidence isn't limited to newspaper illustration and

sketches on cave wall. Perhaps the most astounding and unexplainable pieces

of physical evidence are a pair of geodes. Both are believed to be

approximately 1,800 years old and when carefully examined were identified as

electrical cells. One of the cells which was discovered in Iraq was tested and

produced 2 volts of electricity. The other, which was discovered by a pair of

Arizona rock hounds, was damaged when the sedimentary encrustation was

being removed and therefore couldn't be tested (Montgomery 221).

Since the dawn of time man has told stories of heavenly and demonic

beings coming to rule, teach, torment, seduce and provide salvation. Every

culture has myths of ancient gods who strode through the heavens. The

American Indians had the cachinas who taught them to farm and saved them

from numerous cataclysms. Greece had Zeus who threw lightning bolts from

his finger tips and Apollo crossed the sky in his golden chariot. The

Christians have Ecclesiastes who encountered the "ant people" and rode

through the skies with them from Babylon to Israel. Across the entire globe

we find drawings on cave walls that resemble men in space suits and objects

that greatly resemble flying saucers. The sacred artwork of the Hopi Indian

when is without a doubt a representation of the waves produced by modern

day oscilloscopes (Montgomery 225-237). The Hopis are also native to the

area where one of the electrical cells were found. It could be that these
things

are no more than mere coincidence, but I doubt it. Man in his arrogance is

reluctant to believe that we may share Gods vast, glorious universe with other

beings of intelligence. We sometimes fail to realize that if the Earth were a

day old, the race of man would only have been here for 13 minutes. If you

couple that with the fact that there are Black Holes and White Dwarfs

millions of years older than our sun, it increases the improbability that we
are

the only ones out here. In the preceding text I have produced a limited

sampling of the volumes of evidence available. I will close this paper on

a quote from Ecclesiastes I:9 "there is no new thing under the sun", and that

includes intelligent life.

"Religion"

According to the dictionary "religion is the service and worship of
God or the supernatural."1 I challenge that definition. It is true that all
religions do involve the worship of some supernatural force, however, it
is also true that no religion in history has ever stopped at that. For a
more complete definition of the word religion we also have to examine
two other aspects. How has it affected man over the centuries? And
what is the true motivation of its leadership? Some would have you
believe that it has brought peace and harmony to the world and that its
leaders are motivated by the service of their god.

I suggest that a more accurate definition of word would be as
follows. Religion, a feudal system of government which uses fear, hate and
sometimes lies to control and manipulate people for the betterment of a
select group
of individuals.

To better illustrate this point let's look at just three of the countless
examples that human history has to offer. The Inquisition, "judicial
institution, established by the papacy in the Middle Ages, charged with
seeking out, trying, and sentencing people guilty of heresy."2 Heretics
were considered enemies of the state. The penalty for heresy was
torture and death. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ, "Jesus was taken to
Golgotha and nailed to a cross, the Roman punishment for political
offenders and criminals."2 The Crusades, "The name Crusade (from
Latin, "Cross") was also applied, to the wars against pagan peoples,
Christian heretics, and political foes of the papacy."2 All three
examples illustrate how man has used God to justify his greed and quest
for power. When the leadership was challenged, it used devine decree to
justify the murder and torture of the innocent. We are expected to
believe that a non-physical being order the religious leadership to aquire
riches and land, often at the demise of the poor and helpless. The
misuse of God isn't limited to the Ancient world. Today we have people
like Louis Farakahn and Adolph Hitler and David Koresch who use god
to propagate racism and hate, there by giving them the power unite and
control a given segment of the population.

As you can plainly see, religion is much more than the worship of
a supernatural force as its leaders would have us believe. It is in fact, a
method by which a society is governed and controlled. "God created
man, man created religion, it is therefore corrupt."3

"Woman"

In the beginning God created Adam and he saw it was good. He made
him master of all the beasts in garden and all the fish in the sea. Still Adam
longed was lonely, he longed for one of his own kind. God, in gracious mercy
took from Adam a single rib so that he might have a companion. A perfect
mate made of his own flesh, one with which he could share his garden. God
handed down one rule to pair. "Thou may eat of any fruit of any tree in all the
garden and all the world. All but the tree of knowledge, the fruit of that
tree is
forbidden to all. If you thou eat of this tree, thou shalt surely die."1

For ages uncounted the couple frolicked and flourished in the garden.
Adam was now happy, he had a mate to share his life, flesh made from flesh
and through the power of love rejoined to form one body, one mind, one
blessed unit.

One day It came to pass that the woman (Eve) did wander alone into the
garden. While frolicking happily in the meadow she stray near the tree of
knowledge, that tree which bore the forbidden fruit. Eve watched as an apple
fell from the tree. The apple split open and from it emerged a great black
serpent, the serpent took on the shape of a man. A devilishly handsome man
who tempted and seduced Eve. He made love to her under the tree and taught
her the pleasures of the flesh. The serpent bestowed upon her many strange
and wondrous things. He gave to her the carnal knowledge of lust and the
burning desire of the flesh, a hunger that must be sated. He also left her with
his seed which germinated inside of her. As quickly as he came so did he leave,
leaving Eve with an appetite that yourned for satisfaction. Anxious to share
her new found knowledge Eve sought out her husband. She shared with Adam
all that had occurred that day and used her new found knowledge to seduce her
loving husband. After making love in the meadow under the stars Adam was
bestowed with the same burning, savage lust as was Eve. He was also left with
another burning flame, the fire of jealousy. This fire burned angerly in his
heart and welled up in his throat. He could not stand the thought of another
man sharing passionate pleasure with his mate. He came to know hatred for
beast that had so violated him by touching his woman, his gift from God. Eve
was given another gift, inside her fledgling womb grew another child, a child
conceived of the seed of Adam.

When morning came the sky was some how different, there was black
clouds where there had only been white before. The air was cold and
unforgiving as it chilled them to the bone. To protect themselves from the cold
the sought out leaves from the trees to cover their naked bodies. While
walking in the meadow God confronted the pair. He asked them why they
wore leaves upon their bodies? They responded with "we are cold because of
our nakedness." God asked, "how is it that you know of your nakedness?
Have you partaken in the fruit of the forbidden tree?" The pair grew
frightened and lied to cover up their sin. God grew angry with the pair, not
only had they disobeyed him but they lied about it. As punishment God cast
them out of the garden and took from them their immortality. In addition he
made Adams jealousy stick in his throat and to eve he gave the responsibility of
bearing our young. Since it was she that committed the original sin, it would
be her punishment to bear the pain of child birth and as a reminder of what
she had done she would ache and bleed.

Thousands of years have passed since we gained that knowledge. Today
we still have the blessing of a loving union between man and woman. We are
still cursed by lust, temptation and jealousy. The curse of jealousy can
cause a
man to do strange things. It makes him protective of his mate, distrusting of
other men and sometimes possessive of his mate.

Women have the uncanny ability to bring the greatest pleasure and
inflict the most terrible pain. They are a blessed scourge, they have inspired
wars as well as poetry. I have personally suffered more pain and anguish at the
hands of women than any man could ever hope to inflict. In all fairness I can
also attribute my greatest pleasures to women. The female of our species sees
the world through different eyes. She has the ability to comfort with sweet
tone of her voice and to heal any ill with her soft, gentle touch.

In conclusion I would like to say that there is nothing so pleasurable,
fulfilling and satisfying as sharing ones life with a woman that you truly love,
trust, admire and respect.
